The Every Member Commitment

Jesus said, "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you". (Luke 6:38)

Notice that Jesus did not identify what we are to give. Jesus said this because it does not matter whether we give our time, our counsel, our support, our money, our loyalty, or our love.

Each year beginning in late summer, Highland Park United Methodist Church seeks the commitment of each member to ‘witness’ in all of these ways. The "Every Member Commitment" campaign is traditionally identified with the request for funds to support the church and its missions, however, all commitments are equally necessary to maintain the life of the church.

We are called to follow Jesus' principle of giving. Individually we choose the type, quality and the amount. The Every Member Commitment Campaign is our opportunity to set the "measure" of what God calls us to give.
