Welcome to the website of Highland Park United Methodist Church (HPUMC), a vibrant and vital congregation in southeast Topeka Kansas. Though we have a special long term connection to the Highland Park area of Topeka, we have active members throughout Topeka and Shawnee County. We are located at 29th and SE Michigan (map).

Health Fair on Saturday, July 22 - 1 pm to 4 pm

Our Health Ministries team is sponsoring a Health Fair on Saturday, July 22 at the church.  The Lions Club hearing and vision testing van will be here, along with displays and representatives of other health services groups in the Topeka area. This will be for people of all ages and will be free of charge.

Christmas In July

We are celebrating "Christmas In July." Our unique Christmas tree is located in the north hallway of the church for the entire month of July. You will have the opportunity to decorate our tree with paper goods. These products will be donated to our own I Care, Inc. to be distributed locally to people in need.

Our Community Can

"Our Community Can" is a community-wide food drive that unites everyone in the fight against

This year, we will be fighting summer hunger.

Childhood hunger is actually at its worst during the summer months. Low-income families who rely on school meals to nourish their children during the school year are struggle to feed their families.

Harvesters is inviting their partnering agencies to participate in this food drive and I Care, located at our church, is a partnering agency. In cooperation with four other community churches, all food collections collected on behalf of I Care will remain at I Care to distribute locally.

Back to School Fair

Highland Park United Methodist Church Back-to-School Fair is providing free school supplies, including grade appropriate basic school supplies for kindergarten through Middle School families.

Beginning Anew Worship Service

We are an all inclusive, very casual, interactive, different kind of worship experience every Saturday night at HPUMC Dawson Hall.

We begin each evening with a community pot luck dinner at 5:30 pm and then at 6 pm we start the PowerPoint presentation with an opening prayer, followed by an opening video. We share scripture, sing songs and the message is given by either Pastor Lynn Lamberty or one of the retired Pastors who are members of Highland Park United Methodist Church.

We want everyone to feel welcome and included, so if you are looking for a church home, or looking for something less than traditional in your worship, please come check us out. We might just be what you are looking for!

Dillons Community Rewards

In January of this year, the Dillons Dollars program our church has been using was replaced by Dillons Community Rewards. It became necessary to create an account with Dillons and assign our church to received community rewards every time you use your Dillons card. To continue to support Highland Park United Methodist Church, you will need to complete this process every January. Remember: Any fuel points you earn from prescriptions or shopping still go to you.
